MAY LAKE

Ultimate Day Trip Destination

Near the end of June, and during the first part of July when the weather is at its best, the Northerns congregate in the shallow bay of May Lake to sun themselves.

The shallow water and the sandy bottom in the bay makes sight fishing for these aggressive fish a great sport. People spend many hours creating lures to catch Northerns, but these fish will bite anything you throw at them!

Aside from Northerns, this lake also has an abundance of small red fin trout, and a few good sized Arctic Grayling.

May Lake is a small but deep lake. On the opposite side of Wolf Lake from the lodge you will secure your boat to shore and proceed along the path through the wilderness about half a mile. The lake has two boats, and makes a great day trip!
